Description of the Itinerary


1st. Day (Tuesday)

Arrival to Mexico City. Pick up at the airport and transfer to the hotel.

2nd. Day (Wednesday)

City tour + Teotihuacán.
Tour through the city center including the Zocalo Capitalino – Political Center of the country, The Cathedral, The Government Palace with the famous murals of the Mexican artist Diego Rivera. You will also know the Avenue Paseo de la Reforma, the most beautiful avenue and famous for its many monuments and memorials. After the tour of the city you will discover Teotihuacán, the city where men become Gods and will know the Pyramid of the Sun and the Moon. The food is not included. Back to the hotel. Break.

3rd. Day (Thursday) Mexico – Puebla – Oaxaca.

Departure to Puebla, City of Los Angeles. We begin your cultural visit with the majestic temple of Santa Maria Tonanzintla, decorated by indigenous hands. On arrival in Puebla we visit the historic center, the Chapel of the Rosary and the Cathedral. Food. We continue our way to Oaxaca through panoramic landscapes. Overnight at Hotel Mision de los Angeles (4 stars) or similar.

4th. Day (Friday) Oaxaca – Monte Albán -Mitla – Tule. Accommodation in Oaxaca.

Breakfast. In the morning, visit to Monte Albán, a great archeological site built by the Zapotecas on the top of a mountain where we will find different cultural manifestations of Olmecas, Mixtecas and Zapotecas. The main platform, the Observatory, Tomb # 7, the stones of the dancers are just some of the attractions of this imposing place. Later, we continue to Mitla, one of the most enigmatic sacred places. This town had a great importance as burial site and its buildings are decorated with symbolic mosaics. During our route we make a brief visit to the Tule tree, perhaps one of the largest trees in the world. Return to Oaxaca. Already in the center of this beautiful city, visit the Cathedral, the dazzling Temple of Sato Domingo and the regional Museum. Accommodation.

5th. Day (Saturday) Oaxaca – Sumidero Canyon – San Cristobal.

Overnight in San Cristobal de las Casas. American breakfast on the way. Early in the morning, departure to Tuxtla Gutierrez, capital of the state of Chiapas. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the southern mountains. On board boats we head to the Sumidero Canyon. Food. If the weather permits, we will hike through the nature reserve and then enjoy the swimming pool or a zipline (optional). We rendezvous in speedboats again through the imposing Sumidero Canyon with 1000 meters (3,300 feet) at its highest point. We continue our journey to San Cristobal de las Casas. Overnight at Hotel Casa Mexicana (4 stars) or similar.

6th. Day (Sunday) San Cristobal de las Casas – Indigenous Communities.

Overnight in San Cristobal de las Casas.
Breakfast. Visit to San Juan Chamula and Zinacantán, typical indigenous villages where their people still preserve their traditions, languages, customs, beliefs, as well as their social structures. Sometimes it is possible to witness traditional rituals. In the churches for example you can appreciate the use of typical costumes very original. In the afternoon we recommend visiting the Market, the Cathedral, the Church of Santo Domingo as well as the Jade Museum to see the replica of King Pakal’s tomb. Accommodation.

7th. Day (Monday) San Cristobal de las Casas – Agua Azul – Palenque. Overnight in Palenque.

Breakfast. We head to the Agua Azul Waterfalls to admire its crystalline indigo blue waters. We continue our route towards Palenque. Dinner. Accommodation in Hotel Ciudad Real (4 stars) or similar.

8th. Day (Tuesday) Palenque – Campeche. Accommodation in Campeche.

Breakfast. Cultural visit to the archaeological site of Palenque, surrounded by jungle, one of the main and most important centers of the “Mayan World”. Temple of the Inscriptions, Tomb of Pakal and where the fascinating carved tomb was found, Temples of the Sun and the Foliated Cross and the Palace. Further on we will enjoy the panoramic view of the Gulf of Mexico. Food on your own. Then we leave for Campeche, a beautiful fortified city and Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Panoramic tour of the city. Dinner. Accommodation at Hotel Del Mar (4 stars or similar)

9th. Day (Wednesday) Campeche – Uxmal – Merida. Overnight in Merida.

Breakfast. Departure to Uxmal “the three times built”, to know the great Pyramid of the Fortuneteller, the Quadrangle of the Nuns, the Governor’s Palace and the ball court of Jeugo. Food. Arrival in Merida, “The White City” to enjoy a panoramic view: the avenue Montejo, the monument to La Patria, the Zócalo, the Cathedral and the Government Palace.
Overnight at Hotel El Conquistador (4 stars) or similar.

10th. Day (Thursday) Merida – Chichen Itza – Cancun or Riviera Maya.

Breakfast. Departure to Chichen Itza, the most important and magnificent site of the Mayan Culture declared World Heritage by UNESCO and one of the 7 New Wonders of the World. Visit to the Pyramid known as “The Castle” or Temple of Kukulkan, the largest court of the Ball Game in Mesoamerica, the Temple of the skulls, the Temple of the Jaguar, the Observatory. Later, you can refresh yourself in the beautiful cenote of Ik-Kil. Food. We continue our way to Cancun or The Riviera Maya.
