Day 2. Mexico City – Teotihuacan – Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe – Sightseeing Tour (140 km)
You will go to the enigmatic Teotihuacan – the cult center of the ancient Indians.
You will be impressed by the greatness of its buildings. There is a hypothesis that the ancient inhabitants of Teotihuacan knew cosmic energy, which is now lost, and that the exact orientation of ancient buildings by the sun, moon, and stars has a deep meaning. Teotihuacan’s rigorous geometric layout confirms these assumptions. During the tour, you will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe (patroness of Mexico), covered with lots of legends and miracles.

Day 3. Mexico City – Villahermosa – Palenque (145 km).
Free morning in the capital city. Later transfer to the airport (driver only) to travel to Villahermosa. Transfer from Villahermosa airport (driver only) to Palenque. 4 ⭐ hotel accommodation.
Day 4. Palenque – Waterfall – Palenque
After breakfast, you will go to the ancient Mayan city of Palenque.
The ruins of Palenque are considered one of the most important Mayan archaeological sites in Mexico. The ancient city is located among the hills covered with high jungle, early in the morning, the ruins are shrouded in thick fog, a small stream flows nearby, and you can often hear the roar of a jaguar or howler monkey. The combination of nature and ancient ruins gives this place a special energy. The guide will tell you about the fabulous legends of the mysterious city of Palenque. Then you will make a stop in the jungle to swim in one of the most picturesque waterfalls, due to which the surroundings of Palenque are famous. Return to the hotel.
Day 5 Palenque – Corozal (165 km) – Bethel – Flores (140 km)
Breakfast. Arrival at the village of Corozal and by boat on the Usumacinta River transfer to the border of Guatemala, Bethel. Our trip will take us along rural roads surrounded by lush nature, and then we will have a short boat ride on the Usumacinta River. This mighty river is born in the territory of present-day Guatemala, crosses the entire region of the Mexican states of Chiapas and Tabasco and is considered the longest river in Central America. Border crossing. Change of transport and departure to the town of Flores. (At the border, you will be charged a tax of 20 USD, which is paid independently on the spot.)
Day 6 Flores – Tikal – Flores
Tour to Tikal after breakfast. The ancient city of Tikal is a treasure of Mayan culture. Tikal is a complex system of temples, pyramids, acropolis, and ritual structures. During the tour, you will see the Temple of the Great Jaguar, the Temple of the Masks, the Temple of the High Priest, the Palace of the Bat, the Temple of the Two-Headed Snake, etc. Return to the hotel.
Day 7. Guatemala City – Chichicastenango – Lake Atitlan / Thursday To Sunday
Transfer to Flores airport and flight to Guatemala. Departure to Chichicastenango, a small town located high in the mountains famous for its huge market, the church of San Tomás, and the Mayan altar Pascual Abah. Located at an altitude of 2030 m above sea level, the foggy town of Chichicastenango is surrounded by picturesque valleys and framed by irregular mountain ranges. The rather isolated city becomes a real pandemonium on Thursdays and Sundays when Chichicastenango becomes an important commercial center. Without exaggeration, Chichicastenango is the brightest, most original, and largest indigenous market known in all of Central America, which has not changed much over the centuries. It brings together representatives from Guatemala’s 14 provinces to trade with each other. In Chichicastenango, you can see the bright and unique colors of the typical costumes, as well as buy masks, colorful fabrics, impressive llama wool products (jackets, ponchos, etc.), indigenous bags, figurines, amulets, and much more as souvenirs. All products are handmade, using only natural dyes and ancestral Mayan technologies.

Day 8. Atitlan – Santiago – Antigua
Breakfast at the hotel. At 8.30 we will take a walk on Lake Atitlan and visit the picturesque towns of Zutuil and Santiago Atitlán. Then you will go to the magical city of Antigua, which is under the protection of UNESCO and is the pearl of the symbiosis of the colonial and indigenous culture of Guatemala. Day 9. Antigua – Pacaya Volcano Climbing – Antigua
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning you will have a hiking ascent to the active volcano Pacaya lasting about an hour. In the evening free time for a walk around the city.

Transfer to Guatemala airport. Flight to Cancun or home.
