Day 1. Mexico City
Arrival. Pick up in the airport. Transfer to the hotel. Free time.
Day 2. Mexico City Tour – Pyramid Teotihuacan
Mexico City sightseeing tour – one of the largest cities. Elite neighborhoods and slums, skyscrapers, built on modern technologies and small houses – all this creates a unique image of the city of contrasts – Mexico City. You will visit Zocalo square, an important historical center of the capital. The main historical and architectural monuments are concentrated here: Cathedral, National Palace with Diego Rivera murals (if the Palace will be open to the public), etc. .. After passing through one of the most beautiful streets of the city – Reforma Avenue, you will visit mysterious Teotihuacan – religious center of the ancient Indians, which amaze you by its scale and grandeur of the buildings. There is a hypothesis that the ancient inhabitants of Teotihuacan had knowledge about cosmic energy, which are now lost, and that the exact orientation of the ancient buildings of the sun, moon and stars has a deeper meaning. The strict geometric layout of Teotihuacan confirms these assumptions. In the evening, we recommend you visit one of the restaurants in Mexico that serves traditional Mexican dishes.
Day 3. Mexico City – Wine tasting – San-Miguel de Allende
Departure from Mexico City to the wine state of Mexico – Queretaro. Wine is produced in Mexico since the 16th century, from the time when the first Spaniards landed on the Mexican coast, and in the last decade this industry is actively developing. During the trip you will visit WInery, where you will learn about making process of Mexican wine, it’s characteristics, taste different sorts of wine, cheese and have a delicious lunch (not included). After that you will go to the colonial city of San Miguel de Allende. In the evening you will have an unforgettable tour around the city of San Miguel de Allende, which is under UNESCO protection as humanity cultural heritage. Day 4. San Miguel de Allende – Guanajuato
Departure next colonial city – Guanajuato, which name translates from the language of the local Indians as “hilly place of frogs.” Indians legends talked about the rich deposits of precious metals in this place, so the first thing the Spaniards began was their mining. That is why the are numerous mines in the city creating an impressive subterranean scheme of tunnels, visiting one of the mine is planned during the excursion. Old churches, colonial buildings, cozy squares and winding streets on the steep hillsides give a special beauty to the city. Guanajuato is also called the “city of lovers”. There is the kissing alley, which gets its name from the narrow aisle: two opposite balconies separated by a distance of 69 centimeters. According to the legend a rich family lived at this street, and their daughter fell in love with an ordinary miner. The girl’s father forded her to see the miner, but the miner took a room on the other side of the street, so they can exchange kisses from these balconies. Also you will visit the Museum of the mummies – the only museum in the world that holds the bodies of men, mummified naturally. Researchers believe that the mineral combination of the soil and the dry climate creates perfect conditions for mummification (open on any day except Monday).
Day 5. Guanajuato – Tequila tasting in Casa Sauza – Guadalajara
Departure to the famous distillery Casa Sauza in Jalisco, dedicated to the production of tequila since 1873. Casa Sauza as well as other factories of its production are protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Sites. On this tour you will walk through the plantations of blue agave, visit haciendas, keeping a lot of legends, taste different types of tequila and learn about its production. Day 6. Guadalajara – Tlaquepaque – Airport
Departure to the airport. On your way to the airport, you will visit Tlaquepaque town, famous for it’s ceramic and glass production. Arrival at the airport for Cancun or any other town departure.
