Day 1 | Arrival at Cancun Airport, transfer and check in the hotel, Overnight stay.
Day 2 | Cancun (131km | 2h aprox) Tulum (47km | 1h aprox) Coba (217km | 2.5h aprox) Merida.
In the first part of the excursion, you will visit the port city of Tulum, where the maritime and overland trade routes of the ancient Maya intersected. You will be amazed by the stunning view of the Caribbean coast. Despite its relatively small size, the city is known for the remarkable preservation of its monuments, allowing you to easily imagine the life of this largest Maya center of commerce.
Next, your journey will take you to the ancient Maya city of Coba, nestled in the tropical forest, where the tallest pyramid on the Yucatan Peninsula (42 meters) is located. You will ride bicycles or rickshaws through the untouched jungles, where ancient temples and stelae with Maya hieroglyphs are hidden.
Accommodation at the hotel and an evening stroll through the colonial city. You will surely be impressed by the Cathedral, City Hall, Governor’s House, Independence Square, San Ildefonso Cathedral, the most venerable in the Western Hemisphere, and Paseo de Montejo – the famous street of white mansions. Accommodation at El Espanol Montejo Hotel or similar.
Day 3 | Merida – Colonial Hacienda (84km | 1.5h aprox) Uxmal (84km | 1.5h aprox) Merida.
Breakfast. In the morning, you will head to the majestic Uxmal, surrounded by numerous legends. According to legend, the Pyramid of the Magician was built in just one night, and the city is still inhabited by forest guardians – aluxes. You will be amazed by the beauty of the Governor’s Palace, the House of the Turtles, the Dovecote, and the Nunnery Quadrangle. Later, you will immerse yourself in the world of Spanish aristocrats by visiting an ancient hacienda. Return to Merida. Free time
Day 4 | Merida (120km | 1.5h aprox) Chichen Itza – Cenote (197km | 2.5h aprox) Cancun.
Breakfast. Departure to the peninsula’s center to visit the most unique and important center of Mayan culture – Chichen Itza. This ancient city is one of the Seven New Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The grand structures of the main pyramid, the Temple of Warriors, the world’s largest ball court, the Temple of the Jaguars, the Observatory, and hundreds of other temples will appear before you in their pristine form. Next, you will visit an incomparable cenote, where you can experience the healing properties of underground waters cherished by the Mayan Indians. Transfer to Cancun/Riviera Maya, accommodation at the hotel according to prior reservation.
